Rose Geranium Scented Sugar

Easy to make, this fragrant sugar goes well in lemonade or sweet tea. Sprinkle on cookies or berries, or use for a delicious cake frosting.

  • 1 large handfull rose-scented geranium leaves
  • 4 cups sugar

Wash and thoroughly dry the geranium leaves, then slightly bruise them between the palms of your hands to bring out their sweet scent. pour 1/2 cup of the sugar into a 1-quart mason jar, and place a layer of leaves on top. Add another 1/2 cup sugar, then another layer of leaves. Proceed in this manner until the jar is full. Cap tightly and let sugar infuse for a week. Sift sugar to remove leaves before using.

Makes 4 cups
