A natural biofumigant, Kodiak Mustard helps control soil-borne diseases and suppress nematode activity, while restoring nutrients for bigger, healthier harvests. Its naturally high concentration of glucosinolates make it an excellent non-toxic, biological alternative to synthetic fumigants.

GROWING INSTRUCTIONS
WHEN TO PLANT
In Mild-Winter Climates where ground does not freeze, sow in late fall to overwinter, or spring. In Cold-Winter Climates, plant in fall for winter die-back, then incorporate in spring or sow as early as possible in spring.
HOW TO PLANT
Remove all plant debris and break up soil clumps. Loosen top 2 inches of soil with a rake. Shake can to mix and scatter seeds thinly, 1 to 2 inches apart. Cover seeds with fine soil 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep and lightly firm. Keep soil moist while germinating and when seedlings are small.
INCORPORATING YOUR COVER CROP
Method 1: When 1 to 1½ feet tall, cut down plants and cover with a layer of newspaper or cardboard. Add compost on top. Materials will break down and enrich the soil over a few months. Alternatively, cover with black plastic to hasten decomposition and turn materials into the soil 2 to 3 weeks before sowing crops.
Method 2: When 5 to 6 inches tall, use a shovel to turn plants into the ground. Plants will break down in about a month.
Method 3: When 1 foot tall, remove plants and compost to incorporate back into your soil as finished compost.
