This new variety, bred in Ontario, Canada, is a superior all-around performer and has quickly become the new standard for asparagus quality and production. Millennium is a vigorous grower with strong spring emergence in various soil types including heavier soils.

Higher yielding than Jersey giant or Jersey Supreme, Millennium’s top quality plants put all their energy into producing particularly tender, succulent spears. Millennium has excellent rust resistance, fusarium tolerance, and is productive in both mild and very hard winter areas.

You’ll be rewarded with regular uniform harvests of 7 to 9 inch, delectable, bright green crunchy spears, delicious whether steamed, roasted, stirfried or sautéed.

Ordered my 25 crowns two years ago and the harvests keep rolling in. I have a small urban yard and squeezed the crowns into an existing bed with ornamental alliums and clumping raspberries. They are growing so well, and I love the ferny foliage almost as much as the delicious spears.

Hi Araminty, we're glad to hear your asparagus crowns are thriving and bringing you such joy! Interplanting them with the ornamental alliums and raspberries is a great idea. Thank you for sharing!

Got 27 crowns in my order, arrived later than advertised, planted immediately according to best practice for asparagus, and only 16 came up. I have given them ample time to see if the others would come up but it is now mid-July so I do not think the crowns grew. This has been my first poor experience with Renee’s Garden. They got in the ground later in the season than ideal due to the shipping being different than advertised so maybe that has something to do with it. Only about half of those that came up have grown above a few inches tall. We will see how they do in the years to come.

We're so sorry to hear that! We appreciate the feedback regarding shipping times and quality. We want you to have a successful garden and would love to make it right. We’ve sent you a direct email and hope to hear from you soon. Thank you for this opportunity to improve.

First time planting this relatively new variety. Check back with me in three or four years.

Impressively large healthy looking roots compared with an earlier local purchase. Lots of small shoots showing. Hoping for a great crop in years to come.
