At last, an attractive and really functional kitchen compost pail!
Handy, very good-looking and well-engineered, this is the perfect size compost pail to sit on the kitchen counter to collect kitchen scraps that are on their way to the composter. Inside the outer metal can is a sturdy polyurethane plastic inner bucket with a lift up handle. Best of all, the lid has a clear rubber ring that seals completely to keep odors inside, always an issue with compost pails!
Simply open the lid, pick up the full inner bucket by the handy metal handle that lies neatly underneath and easily and cleanly transport kitchen waste your compost pile or composter. The 2-in-1 pail is easy to clean and the inner bucket is dishwasher safe.

Very cute! Small, doesn’t seal great. There are two seams inside the larger metal pail that houses the plastic bucket, the prohibit the lid from fully sealing. I push the lid down and hear air escaping or being pushed out, then I lift my hand and see the lid rise back up and hear air entering the bucket. I’m not sure if this is intentional or if it is supposed to be an airtight seal? I feel like I can smell things slightly, but if you empty it everyday I don’t see why it would be a problem.
Works well to keep compostables out of routine garbage. Lid works well to keep secure till I can transfer to outside barrel.
I bought this compost pail in stainless steel. I have a rather old-fashioned kitchen and was using a stainless bowl to catch scraps for my compost bin. This looks and serves much better. The lid fits well and there is no odor or fruit fly problem, as so often happens with indoor systems. The inner bucket releases easily, and I can take it out the compost bin or city bin easily and neatly. It is easy to clean up and looks very nice sitting on the kitchen counter. I would like it to hold a bit more, but it holds quite a bit really. I am quite happy with it.
