GROWING INSTRUCTIONS
TENDER PERENNIAL GROWN AS ANNUAL
Summer/Fall bloom. Frost tender.
TO START EARLY INDOORS
Five to six weeks before last frost date, sow seeds 1⁄2 inch deep and 2 inches apart in a container of seed starting mix. Keep moist and provide a strong light source until seedlings are ready to plant in the garden. Acclimate seedlings gradually to outdoor conditions when night temperatures are regularly above 50°F (10°C). Space seedlings 10 to 12 inches apart in the garden.
FOR CONTAINER GROWING
Plant 5-6 seedlings per 20 inch pot; 3 plants per 12-14 inch pot.
TO START DIRECTLY IN THE GARDEN
Sow seeds in a well-worked seedbed in full sun only when all danger of frost is past and weather is warm and settled. Space seeds 4 to 5 inches apart in rows 12 inches apart, cover about 1⁄2 inch deep and gently firm soil. Keep soil evenly moist while awaiting germination in 10 to 20 days.
GROWING NOTES
Perfect in containers OR garden beds! This lovely Salvia is a weather tolerant, low maintenance plant that adds rich color and texture to the garden. Keeping spent flowers removed will encourage extended flowering.

I just left a review, applauding the beautiful grape colors, but I didn’t have a photo handy so here’s a photo or two it is now end of July in zone four
Hi Terry, thank you for sharing your lovely update and photos! We're so glad you're enjoying the Salvia 'Estella Purple'. Your planters look absolutely lovely!
I ordered a Estella seeds this spring and I am absolutely delighted. It grew well good germination. And the grape colored flowers are a fabulous color addition to all my containers. I used it as a center spike in many, in others I used ordinary blue Sylvia, but the purple grape color just blows everybody away. I’ve been asked a dozen times. Where did I get it? Where did I get it?
I am ordering two packets next year
Great, with the exception of the squirrels getting a few seeds. They are sprouting as of 1 week ago.
