EXCLUSIVE - Astia is a well-bred French bush zucchini variety, developed especially for container growing and planting in small space gardens. These non rambling, compact squash vines are also highly ornamental with big silvery-green, deeply indented leaves. Early bearing and productive, Astia bears abundant zucchini near the base of the plant where they are easy to harvest. These uniformly smooth, lustrous, glossy-green zucchini have excellent flavor and are delicious whether roasted, sautéed, steamed or baked.

GROWING INSTRUCTIONS
START SEEDS OUTDOORS
Plant only when weather has warmed up and nights are above 50°F (10°C) Amend soil well with aged manure or compost. In a sunny spot, make slightly mounded hills, 3’ wide and 3’ apart. Sow seeds in a triangle on each mound, planting two seeds 1” deep at each point in the triangle. Thin to the strongest seedling at each point, leaving 3 seedlings per mound.
FOR CONTAINERS
Use fresh, good quality potting soil in containers. For a pot 15 in. across and 12 in. deep, sow 2-3 seeds in center. When seedlings reach 3-4 inches, remove all but 1 strong seedling. For pots 18-20 in. across and 12-15 in. deep, sow seeds 4 inches from container edges, then thin to 2 plants per pot. For larger pots, thin plants to be 8 in. apart. Mulch to help conserve moisture and fertilize monthly for good production. In hot weather, check and water containers daily.
GROWING NOTES
Protect seedlings from marauding birds with plastic berry baskets, removing before plants get crowded. Thin plants properly; you’ll get more zucchinis from a few well-spaced, healthy vines than from crowded plants that are much more disease prone.
HARVEST AND USE
Harvest at about 5 inches in length; frequent harvesting keeps plants producing. Enjoy these zucchinis grilled, baked sautéed or steamed. Try slicing lengthwise, drizzling with olive oil and roasting to succulent perfection. Or slice 1/2 inch thick, top with pizza sauce and cheese and bake.- 5 stars: 12 (100%)

I shared seeds with my adult children and everything is growing very well. We look forward to a great crop.
I planted these in a very large container as well as in ground beds. Squash Vine Borers got the one in the bed, but the container attempt is doing quite well - so vigorously that I wonder how it would have done in a smaller container (this one is about 3' high and 2' wide). The pictures are 19 days apart. Really enjoying how the fruit grows around the base and I can just pick it off. I also like that it is easier on my knees to hand pollinate in the higher container as opposed to the ground.
Planting these August 1st, so I cannot comment yet!
The seeds look great!! I sowed them already and got great germination. They are Packaged well with good info on the seed pack. Shipping was fast!!
Oregon has had cooler weather this summer, but the sun finally came out and the zucchini are so happy and growing strong!
Wow!!! They sprouted in less than a week!
These seeds always sprouted, and the plants are strong and healthy
High germination, it's early in the season so 5 stars is based on germination @this time.
Very fast delivery. Generous amount of seeds. Super experience.
I have grown this for the past three years and they DO NOT DISAPPOINT! They are small, but prolific and they produce fruit even when there is no male flower around to do the trick. Foliage is pretty too, silver and green. I have even stuck it in containers with flowers, and still got zucchini!

I love these guys. I've been growing them for 3 years and they've never disappointed me. They're delicious and can be grown anywhere.
